1.  *     Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad.     A. L. M. S.     سورة الاعراف  بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم المص     A L M S/C.         Alif-lam-meem-sad

2.  *     A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn (the erring) and teach the Believers).     This scripture has been revealed to you - you shall not harbor doubt about it in your heart - that you may warn with it, and to provide a reminder for the believers. A Book was descended to you so no tightness/strain be in your chest (innermost) from it, to warn/give notice with it and a remembrance/reminder to the believers.         Kitabun onzila ilayka falayakun feesadrikaharajun minhu litunthira bihi wathikralilmu\mineena

3.  *     Follow (O men!) the revelation given unto you from your Lord, and follow not, as friends or protectors, other than Him. Little it is ye remember of admonition.     You shall all follow what is revealed to you from your Lord; do not follow any idols besides Him. Rarely do you take heed. Follow what was descended to you from your Lord, and do not follow from other than Him guardians, little (is) what you remember/glorify.         IttabiAAoo maonzila ilaykum min rabbikum walatattabiAAoo min doonihi awliyaa qaleelan matathakkaroona

4.  *     How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest.     Many a community we annihilated; they incurred our retribution while they were asleep, or wide awake. And how many from a village/urban city We destroyed it, so Our might/power came to it suddenly at night/overnight, or (while) they are saying/relaxing at midday.         Wakam min qaryatin ahlaknahafajaahaba\sunabayatan aw hum qa-iloona

5.  *     When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong."     Their utterance when our retribution came to them was: "Indeed, we have been transgressors." So their call/prayer when/if Our might/power came to them was not except that they said: "We were unjust/oppressive."         Famakana daAAwahum ithjaahum ba\sunaillaan qaloo innakunnathalimeena

6.  *     Then shall we question those to whom Our message was sent and those by whom We sent it.     We will certainly question those who received the message, and we will question the messengers. So We will ask/question (E) those sent to them, and We will ask/question (E) the messengers.         Falanas-alanna allatheena orsila ilayhim walanas-alanna almursaleena

7.  *     And verily, We shall recount their whole story with knowledge, for We were never absent (at any time or place).     We will inform them authoritatively, for we were never absent. So We will inform/narrate on (to) them with knowledge and We were not absent.         Falanaqussanna AAalayhim biAAilmin wamakunnagha-ibeena

8.  *     The balance that day will be true (to nicety): those whose scale (of good) will be heavy, will prosper:     The scales will be set on that day, equitably. Those whose weights are heavy will be the winners. And the weight/measure that day (is) the correct/deserved/just, so who his (whose) weights/measures became heavy, so those, they are the successful/winners.         Waalwaznu yawma-ithini alhaqqu faman thaqulat mawazeenuhu faola-ika humu almuflihoona

9.  *     Those whose scale will be light, will be their souls in perdition, for that they wrongfully treated Our signs.     As for those whose weights are light, they will be the ones who lost their souls as a consequence of disregarding our revelations, unjustly. And who his (whose) weights/measures were reduced/lightened, so those (are) those who lost themselves because (of) what they were with Our signs/verses/evidences causing injustice/oppression.         Waman khaffat mawazeenuhu faola-ika allatheena khasiroo anfusahum bimakanoo bi-ayatinayathlimoona

10.  *     It is We Who have placed you with authority on earth, and provided you therein with means for the fulfilment of your life: small are the thanks that ye give!     We have established you on earth, and we have provided for you the means of support therein. Rarely are you appreciative. And We had strengthened/empowered you in the earth/Planet Earth, and We made for you in it livelihood/sustenance, little (is) what you thank/be grateful.         Walaqad makkannakum fee al-ardi wajaAAalnalakum feehamaAAayisha qaleelan matashkuroona

11.  *     It is We Who created you and gave you shape; then We bade the angels bow down to Adam, and they bowed down; not so Iblis; He refused to be of those who bow down.     We created you, then we shaped you, then we said to the angels, "Fall prostrate before Adam." They fell prostrate, except Iblees (Satan); he was not with the prostrators. And We had created you, then We pictured/formed you, then We said to the angels: "Prostrate to Adam." So they prostrated except Satan, was not from the prostrating.         Walaqad khalaqnakum thummasawwarnakum thumma qulnalilmala-ikati osjudoo li-adama fasajadoo illaibleesa lam yakun mina alssajideena

12.  *     (God) said: "What prevented thee from bowing down when I commanded thee?" He said: "I am better than he: Thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay."     He said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I ordered you?" He said, "I am better than he; You created me from fire, and created him from mud." He (God) said: "What prevented/stopped/forbid you, that you not prostrate when/if I ordered/commanded you?" He (the devil)said: "I am better than him, You created me from fire, and You created him from mud/clay."         Qala mamanaAAaka allatasjuda ithamartuka qala anakhayrun minhu khalaqtanee min narin wakhalaqtahu minteenin

13.  *     (God) said: "Get thee down from this: it is not for thee to be arrogant here: get out, for thou art of the meanest (of creatures)."     He said, "Therefore, you must go down, for you are not to be arrogant here. Get out; you are debased." He (God) said: "So drop/reduce/decline from it, so (it) was not to be for you that you be arrogant in it, so get out/emerge, that you are from the subservient/humiliated/lowly."         Qala faihbitminhafamayakoonu laka an tatakabbara feehafaokhruj innaka mina alssaghireena

14.  *     He said: "Give me respite till the day they are raised up."     He said, "Grant me a respite, until the Day of Resurrection." He (the devil) said: "Give me time/delay me to a day they be sent/resurrected/revived."         Qala anthirnee ilayawmi yubAAathoona

15.  *     (God) said: "Be thou among those who have respite."     He said, "You are granted a respite." He (God) said: "That you are from the given time/delayed."         Qala innaka mina almunthareena

16.  *     He said: "Because thou hast thrown me out of the way, lo! I will lie in wait for them on thy straight way:     He said, "Since You have willed that I go astray, I will skulk for them on Your straight path. He (the devil) said: "So with what you misguided/enticed me, I will sit/remain (E) for them (in) Your straight/direct road/way."         Qala fabimaaghwaytanee laaqAAudanna lahumsirataka almustaqeema

17.  *     "Then will I assault them from before them and behind them, from their right and their left: Nor wilt thou find, in most of them, gratitude (for thy mercies)."     "I will come to them from before them, and from behind them, and from their right, and from their left, and You will find that most of them are unappreciative." Then I will come to them from between their hands, and from behind them, and from/of/on their rights, and from/of/on their lefts, and You (will) not find most of them thankful/grateful.         Thumma laatiyannahum min bayni aydeehim wamin khalfihim waAAan aymanihim waAAan shama-ilihim walatajidu aktharahum shakireena

18.  *     (God) said: "Get out from this, disgraced and expelled. If any of them follow thee,- Hell will I fill with you all.     He said, "Get out therefrom, despised and defeated. Those among them who follow you, I will fill Hell with you all. He (God) said: "Get out/emerge from it expelled/degraded, expelled/driven away, whom (E) followed you from them, I will fill (E) Hell from you all/all together (E)."         Qala okhruj minhamathooman madhooran laman tabiAAaka minhum laamlaanna jahannama minkum ajmaAAeena

19.  *     "O Adam! dwell thou and thy wife in the Garden, and enjoy (its good things) as ye wish: but approach not this tree, or ye run into harm and transgression."     "As for you, Adam, dwell with your wife in Paradise, and eat therefrom as you please, but do not approach this one tree, lest you fall in sin." And you Adam, reside/inhabit you and your wife/spouse the Paradise, so you (B) eat from (it) where/when you (B) willed/wanted, and do not approach/near this/that the tree, so you (B) become/will be from the unjust/oppressive.         Wayaadamu oskun anta wazawjuka aljannata fakulaminhaythu shi\tumawalataqrabahathihi alshshajarata fatakoonamina alththalimeena

20.  *     Then began Satan to whisper suggestions to them, bringing openly before their minds all their shame that was hidden from them (before): he said: "Your Lord only forbade you this tree, lest ye should become angels or such beings as live for eve r."     The devil whispered to them, in order to reveal their bodies, which were invisible to them. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you from this tree, except to prevent you from becoming angels, and from attaining eternal existence." So the devil talked to/gave evil suggestions and temptations to them (B) to show to them (B) what was hidden/concealed from them (B) from their (B)'s shameful genital private parts, and he said: "Your (B)'s Lord did not prevent you (B) from that/this tree except that you (B) become/be two angels or you (B) become/be from the immortal/eternal."         Fawaswasa lahumaalshshaytanu liyubdiya lahumamawooriya AAanhumamin saw-atihimawaqala manahakumarabbukumaAAan hathihi alshshajarati illaan takoonamalakayni aw takoonamina alkhalideena

21.  *     And he swore to them both, that he was their sincere adviser.     He swore to them, "I am giving you good advice." And he swore/made oath to them (B): "I am to you (B) from (E) the advisors/counselors."         Waqasamahumainnee lakumalamina alnnasiheena

22.  *     So by deceit he brought about their fall: when they tasted of the tree, their shame became manifest to them, and they began to sew together the leaves of the garden over their bodies. And their Lord called unto them: "Did I not forbid you that tree, and tell you that Satan was an avowed enemy unto you?"     He thus duped them with lies. As soon as they tasted the tree, their bodies became visible to them, and they tried to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise. Their Lord called upon them: "Did I not enjoin you from that tree, and warn you that the devil is your most ardent enemy?" So he lured/attracted and lowered them (B), with deceit/temptation so when they (B) tasted/experienced the tree, their (B)'s shameful genital private parts appeared to them (B), and they (B) started and continued (to) stick/tried hard to make do with what they do not have on them (B) from the Paradise's leaves, and their (B)'s Lord called them (B): "Did I not forbid/prevent you (B) from that the tree, and I said to you (B) that the devil (is) for you (B) an evident enemy?"         Fadallahumabighuroorin falammathaqaalshshajarata badat lahumasaw-atuhumawatafiqayakhsifani AAalayhimamin waraqi aljannati wanadahumarabbuhumaalam anhakumaAAan tilkumaalshshajarati waaqul lakumainna alshshaytana lakumaAAaduwwun mubeenun

23.  *     They said: "Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly be lost."     They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged our souls, and unless You forgive us and have mercy on us, we will be losers." They (B) said: "Our Lord, We caused injustice/oppressed ourselves, and if You do not forgive for us, and You have mercy upon us, we will be/become from the losers."         Qalarabbanathalamnaanfusanawa-in lam taghfir lanawatarhamnalanakoonanna mina alkhasireena

24.  *     (God) said: "Get ye down. With enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood,- for a time."     He said, "Go down as enemies of one another. On earth shall be your habitation and provision for awhile." He said: "Drop/descend/reduce some of you to some (are) an enemy, and for you in the earth/Planet Earth (is) settlement/establishment and long life/enjoyment to a time."         Qala ihbitoo baAAdukum libaAAdin AAaduwwun walakum fee al-ardi mustaqarrun wamataAAun ilaheenin

25.  *     He said: "Therein shall ye live, and therein shall ye die; but from it shall ye be taken out (at last)."     He said, "On it you will live, on it you will die, and from it you will be brought out." He said: "In it you live, and in it you die, and from it you are brought out."         Qala feehatahyawna wafeehatamootoona waminhatukhrajoona

26.  *     O ye Children of Adam! We have bestowed raiment upon you to cover your shame, as well as to be an adornment to you. But the raiment of righteousness,- that is the best. Such are among the Signs of God, that they may receive admonition!     O children of Adam, we have provided you with garments to cover your bodies, as well as for luxury. But the best garment is the garment of righteousness. These are some of GOD's signs, that they may take heed. You Adam's sons and daughters, We had descended on you a cover/dress (that) hides/conceals your shameful genital private parts, and feathers/riches/possessions, and the fear and obedience (of God's) cover/dress, that (is) better, and that (is) from God's signs/verses/evidences, maybe/perhaps they remember/glorify.         Yabaneeadama qad anzalnaAAalaykum libasan yuwaree saw-atikum wareeshan walibasu alttaqwathalika khayrunthalika minayati Allahi laAAallahum yaththakkaroona

27.  *     O ye Children of Adam! Let not Satan seduce you, in the same manner as He got your parents out of the Garden, stripping them of their raiment, to expose their shame: for he and his tribe watch you from a position where ye cannot see them: We m ade the evil ones friends (only) to those without faith.     O children of Adam, do not let the devil dupe you as he did when he caused the eviction of your parents from Paradise, and the removal of their garments to expose their bodies. He and his tribe see you, while you do not see them. We appoint the devils as companions of those who do not believe. You Adam's sons and daughters, (let) not the devil test/misguide/betray you as/like he brought out your parents from the Paradise, he removes/pulls away from them (B) their (B)'s cover/dress to show them (B)/make them (B) understand their (B)'s shameful genital private parts; that he sees you, he and his group/tribe from where/when you do not see them, that We made the devils guardians/allies to those who do not believe.         Yabaneeadama layaftinannakumu alshshaytanu kamaakhraja abawaykum mina aljannati yanziAAu AAanhumalibasahumaliyuriyahumasaw-atihimainnahu yarakum huwa waqabeeluhu minhaythu latarawnahum innajaAAalnaalshshayateena awliyaa lillatheena layu\minoona

28.  *     When they do aught that is shameful, they say: "We found our fathers doing so"; and "God commanded us thus": Say: "Nay, God never commands what is shameful: do ye say of God what ye know not?"     They commit a gross sin, then say, "We found our parents doing this, and GOD has commanded us to do it." Say, "GOD never advocates sin. Are you saying about GOD what you do not know?" And if they made/did an enormous/atrocious deed, they said: "We found our fathers on it, and God ordered/commanded us with it." Say: "That God does not order/command with the enormous/atrocious deeds, do you say on (about) God what you do not know?"         Wa-ithafaAAaloo fahishatan qaloo wajadnaAAalayhaabaanawaAllahu amaranabihaqul inna Allaha laya\muru bialfahsha-i ataqooloona AAalaAllahi malataAAlamoona

29.  *     Say: "My Lord hath commanded justice; and that ye set your whole selves (to Him) at every time and place of prayer, and call upon Him, making your devotion sincere as in His sight: such as He created you in the beginning, so shall ye return."     Say, "My Lord advocates justice, and to stand devoted to Him alone at every place of worship. You shall devote your worship absolutely to Him alone. Just as He initiated you, you will ultimately go back to Him." Say: "My Lord ordered/commanded with the just/equitable, and stand your faces/fronts at every mosque/place of worshipping God, and call Him faithful/loyal to Him (in) the religion, as/like He started/created you, you return.         Qul amara rabbee bialqisti waaqeemoo wujoohakum AAinda kulli masjidin waodAAoohu mukhliseena lahu alddeena kamabadaakum taAAoodoona

30.  *     Some He hath guided: Others have (by their choice) deserved the loss of their way; in that they took the evil ones, in preference to God, for their friends and protectors, and think that they receive guidance.     Some He guided, while others are committed to straying. They have taken the devils as their masters, instead of GOD, yet they believe that they are guided. A group/party, He guided, and a group/party (it) became fact/deserved/imminent on them the misguidance, that they took the devils (as) guardians/allies from other than God, and they think/suppose that they are guided.97         Fareeqan hadawafareeqanhaqqa AAalayhimu alddalalatu innahumu ittakhathoo alshshayateena awliyaa min dooni Allahi wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona

31.  *     O Children of Adam! wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: But waste not by excess, for God loveth not the wasters.     O children of Adam, you shall be clean and dress nicely when you go to the masjid. And eat and drink moderately; Surely, He does not love the gluttons. You Adam's sons and daughters, take/receive your decoration/beauty at every/each mosque/place of worshipping God, and eat and drink and do not waste/spoil/ignore, that God does not love/like the wasters.         Yabaneeadama khuthoo zeenatakum AAinda kulli masjidin wakuloo waishraboo walatusrifoo innahu layuhibbu almusrifeena

32.  *     Say: Who hath forbidden the beautiful (gifts) of God, which He hath produced for His servants, and the things, clean and pure, (which He hath provided) for sustenance? Say: They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) pure ly for them on the Day of Judgment. Thus do We explain the signs in detail for those who understand.     Say, "Who prohibited the nice things GOD has created for His creatures, and the good provisions?" Say, "Such provisions are to be enjoyed in this life by those who believe. Moreover, the good provisions will be exclusively theirs on the Day of Resurrection." We thus explain the revelations for people who know. Say: "Who forbid God's decoration/beauty/ornament which He brought out to (for) His worshippers/slaves, and the enjoyable/goodnesses from the provision/things of benefit or value ?"Say: "It is to those who believed in the life the present/worldly life clearly/purely (in) the Resurrection Day, as/like that We detail/explain/clarify the verses/evidences to a nation knowing."         Qul manharrama zeenata Allahi allatee akhraja liAAibadihi waalttayyibati mina alrrizqi qul hiya lillatheenaamanoo fee alhayati alddunyakhalisatan yawma alqiyamati kathalika nufassilu al-ayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona

33.  *     Say: the things that my Lord hath indeed forbidden are: shameful deeds, whether open or secret; sins and trespasses against truth or reason; assigning of partners to God, for which He hath given no authority; and saying things about God of whi ch ye have no knowledge.     Say, "My Lord prohibits only evil deeds, be they obvious or hidden, and sins, and unjustifiable aggression, and to set up beside GOD powerless idols, and to say about GOD what you do not know." Say: "But my Lord forbade the enormous/atrocious deeds what is/became visible from it, and what is/was hidden, and the sin/crime, and the oppression/transgression/corruption without the right, and that you share/make partners (with God) what He did not descend with it a proof/evidence, and that you say on (about) God what you do not know.         Qul innamaharrama rabbiya alfawahisha mathahara minhawamabatana waal-ithma waalbaghya bighayri alhaqqi waan tushrikoo biAllahi malam yunazzil bihi sultanan waan taqooloo AAalaAllahi malataAAlamoona

34.  *     To every people is a term appointed: when their term is reached, not an hour can they cause delay, nor (an hour) can they advance (it in anticipation).     For each community, there is a predetermined life span. Once their interim comes to an end, they cannot delay it by one hour, nor advance it. And to every nation (is) a term/time, so if their term/time came, they do not delay/lag behind an hour, and they do not advance.         Walikulli ommatin ajalun fa-ithajaa ajaluhum layasta\khiroona saAAatan walayastaqdimoona

35.  *     O ye Children of Adam! whenever there come to you apostles from amongst you, rehearsing My signs unto you,- those who are righteous and mend (their lives),- on them shall be no fear nor shall they grieve.     O children of Adam, when messengers come to you from among you, and recite My revelations to you, those who take heed and lead a righteous life, will have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve. You Adam's sons and daughters, if/whenever messengers from you come to you, they narrate/relay/inform on (to) you My verses/evidences, so who feared and obeyed and corrected/repaired, so no fear/fright on them, and nor they be sad/grieving.         Yabaneeadama immaya\tiyannakum rusulun minkum yaqussoona AAalaykumayatee famani ittaqawaaslaha falakhawfun AAalayhim walahum yahzanoona

36.  *     But those who reject Our signs and treat them with arrogance,- they are companions of the Fire, to dwell therein (for ever).     As for those who reject our revelations, and are too arrogant to uphold them, they have incurred Hell, wherein they abide forever. And those who lied/denied/falsified, with Our verses/evidences and they became arrogant from it, those are the fire's owners/company/friends, they are in it immortally/eternally.         Waallatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinawaistakbaroo AAanhaola-ika as-habu alnnari hum feehakhalidoona

37.  *     Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against God or rejects His Signs? For such, their portion appointed must reach them from the Book (of decrees): until, when our messengers (of death) arrive and take their souls, they say: "Where a re the things that ye used to invoke besides God?" They will reply, "They have left us in the lurch," And they will bear witness against themselves, that they had rejected God.     Who is more evil than those who invent lies about GOD, or reject His revelations? These will get their share, in accordance with the scripture, then, when our messengers come to terminate their lives, they will say, "Where are the idols you used to implore beside GOD?" Every time a new people enters, it curses its sister-people (that went before), until they follow each other, all into the Fire. He will say: "Doubled for all" : but this ye do not understand.     He will say, "Enter with the previous communities of jinns and humans into Hell." Every time a group enters, they will curse their ancestral group. Once they are all in it, the latest one will say of the previous one, "Our Lord, these are the ones who misled us. Give them double the retribution of Hell." He will say, "Each receives double, but you do not know." He said: "Enter in (with) nations (that) have past/expired from before you from the Jinns and the human/mankind in the fire, whenever a nation is entered, it cursed its sister until they caught up (to)/overtook/reached each other in it all together, their last said to their first : "Our Lord those (are who) misguided us, so give/bring them a double torture from the fire." And they shall hear the cry: "Behold! the garden before you! Ye have been made its inheritors, for your deeds (of righteousness)."     We will remove all jealousy from their hearts. Rivers will flow beneath them, and they will say, "GOD be praised for guiding us. We could not possibly be guided, if it were not that GOD has guided us. In fact they will have lost their souls, and the things they invented will leave them in the lurch.     Are they waiting until all (prophecies) are fulfilled? Is it not His to create and to govern? Blessed be God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds!     Your Lord is the one GOD, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, then assumed all authority. 142.  *     We appointed for Moses thirty nights, and completed (the period) with ten (more): thus was completed the term (of communion) with his Lord, forty nights. And Moses had charged his brother Aaron (before he went up): "Act for me amongst my peopl e: Do right, and follow not the way of those who do mischief."     We summoned Moses for thirty nights, and completed them by adding ten. Thus, the audience with his Lord lasted forty nights. Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Stay here with my people, maintain righteousness, and do not follow the ways of the corruptors." And We promised Moses thirty nights, and We completed it with ten, so his Lord's appointed time/appointed time or place completed forty nights, and Moses said to his brother Aaron, "Be my successor in my nation, and correct/repair/reconciliate and do not follow the corrupting's way/path."         WawaAAadnamoosathalatheena laylatan waatmamnahabiAAashrin fatamma meeqatu rabbihi arbaAAeena laylatan waqala moosali-akheehi haroona okhlufnee fee qawmee waaslihwalatattabiAA sabeela almufsideena

143.  *     When Moses came to the place appointed by Us, and his Lord addressed him, He said: "O my Lord! show (Thyself) to me, that I may look upon thee." God said: "By no means canst thou see Me (direct); But look upon the mount; if it abide in its pla ce, then shalt thou see Me." When his Lord manifested His glory on the Mount, He made it as dust. And Moses fell down in a swoon. When he recovered his senses he said: "Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe."     When Moses came at our appointed time, and his Lord spoke with him, he said, "My Lord, let me look and see You." He said, "You cannot see Me. Look at that mountain; if it stays in its place, then you can see Me." Then, his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, and this caused it to crumble. Moses fell unconscious. When he came to, he said, "Be You glorified. I repent to You, and I am the most convinced believer." And when Moses came to Our appointed time/appointed time or place, and his Lord conversed/spoke (to) him, he said: "My Lord show me/make me understand, I look/see to you." He said: "You will never/not see me, and but/however look to the mountain, so if it settled/established/affixed (in) its place/position, so you will/shall see me." So when his Lord uncovered/revealed/shined to the mountain, He made it crushed/destroyed/leveled/flattened, and Moses fell down fainting from thunderous noise/thunderstruck, so when he recovered/woke up, he said: "Your praise/glory, I repented to you, and I am first (of) the believers."         Walammajaa moosalimeeqatinawakallamahu rabbuhu qala rabbi arinee anthur ilayka qala lan taranee walakini onthur ilaaljabali fa-ini istaqarra makanahu fasawfa taranee falammatajallarabbuhu liljabali jaAAalahu dakkan wakharra moosasaAAiqan falammaafaqa qala subhanaka tubtu ilayka waanaawwalu almu\mineena

Therefore, take what I have given you and be appreciative."     قال ياموسى اني اصطفيتك على الناس برسالاتي وبكلامي فخذ ما اتيتك وكن من الشاكرين     He said: "You Moses, that I, I chose/purified you, over the people with My messages, and with My speech/conversation/languages, so take/receive what I gave/brought you, and be from the thankful/grateful."         Qala yamoosainnee istafaytuka AAalaalnnasi birisalatee wabikalamee fakhuthmaataytuka wakun mina alshshakireena

For they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them.     I will divert from My revelations those who are arrogant on earth, without justification. Consequently, when they see every kind of proof they will not believe. And when they see the path of guidance they will not adopt it as their path, but when they see the path of straying they will adopt it as their path. This is the consequence of their rejecting our proofs, and being totally heedless thereof. I will send away/divert/misguide from My verses/evidences those who are being arrogant in the earth/Planet Earth, without the right, and if they see/understand every verse/evidence, they do not believe with it, and if they see/understand the correct/right guidance way/path, they do not take it (as) a way/path, and if they see/understand the misguidance's/failure's way/path they take/receive it (as) a way/path, that (is) because they (E), they lied/denied (rejected) with Our evidences/verses, and they were from it ignoring/neglecting/disregarding.         Saasrifu AAanayatiya allatheena yatakabbaroona fee al-ardi bighayri alhaqqi wa-in yaraw kullaayatin layu\minoo bihawa-in yaraw sabeela alrrushdi layattakhithoohu sabeelan wa-in yaraw sabeela alghayyi yattakhithoohu sabeelanthalika bi-annahum kaththaboo bi-ayatinawakanoo AAanhaghafileena

They took it for worship and they did wrong.     During his absence, Moses' people made from their jewelry the statue of a calf, complete with the sound of a calf. Did they not see that it could not speak to them, or guide them in any path? He put down the tablets, seized his brother by (the hair of) his head, and dragged him to him. Aaron said: "Son of my mother! the people did indeed reckon me as naught, and went near to slaying me! Make not the enemies rejoice over my misfortune, nor count thou me amongst the people of sin."     When Moses returned to his people, angry and disappointed, he said, "What a terrible thing you have done in my absence! Could you not wait for the commandments of your Lord?" He threw down the tablets, and took hold of his brother's head, pulling him towards himself. (Aaron) said, "Son of my mother, the people took advantage of my weakness, and almost killed me. Thou art our Protector: so forgive us and give us Thy mercy; for Thou art the best of those who forgive.     Moses then selected seventy men from among his people, to come to our appointed audience. When the quake shook them, he said, "My Lord, You could have annihilated them in the past, together with me, if You so willed. Would You annihilate us for the deeds of those among us who are foolish? We thus afflicted them, as a consequence of their transgression. And ask/question them about the village/urban city that was present (near) the sea/ocean, when they transgress/violate in the Saturday/Sabbath, when the fishes/large fishes/whales comes to them raised high/clearly showing (on the) day of their Sabbath/Saturday, and (the) day they do not observe the Sabbath by resting and worshipping (it) does not come to them, as/like that We test them because (of) what they were debauching.         Wais-alhum AAani alqaryati allatee kanathadirata albahri ithyaAAdoona fee alssabti ithtateehimheetanuhum yawma sabtihim shurraAAan wayawma layasbitoona latateehim kathalika nabloohum bimakanoo yafsuqoona

164.  *     When some of them said: "Why do ye preach to a people whom God will destroy or visit with a terrible punishment?"- said the preachers:" To discharge our duty to your Lord, and perchance they may fear Him."     Recall that a group of them said, "Why should you preach to people whom GOD will surely annihilate or punish severely?" They answered, "Apologize to your Lord," that they might be saved. And when a nation from them said: "Why/for what (do) you preach/advise/warn a nation God (is) making them die/destroying them or torturing them, a strong (severe) torture." 167.  *     Behold! thy Lord did declare that He would send against them, to the Day of Judgment, those who would afflict them with grievous penalty. Thy Lord is quick in retribution, but He is also Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful.     Additionally, your Lord has decreed that He will raise up against them people who will inflict severe persecution upon them, until the Day of Resurrection. Your Lord is most efficient in enforcing retribution, and He is certainly the Forgiver, Most Merciful. And when your Lord announced/informed he will send (E) on them to the Resurrection Day who burdens/imposes upon them the torture's evil/harm, that your Lord (is) quick/fast (E) (in) the punishment, and that He (is) forgiving (E), merciful.         Wa-ithtaaththana rabbuka layabAAathanna AAalayhim ilayawmi alqiyamati man yasoomuhum soo-a alAAathabi inna rabbaka lasareeAAu alAAiqabi wa-innahu laghafoorun raheemun

168.  *     We broke them up into sections on this earth. There are among them some that are the righteous, and some that are the opposite. We have tried them with both prosperity and adversity: In order that they might turn (to us).     We scattered them among many communities throughout the land. Some of them were righteous, and some were less than righteous. We tested them with prosperity and hardship, that they may return. And We separated/divided them in the earth/Planet Earth (into) nations, from them the correct/righteous people, and from them other than that, and We tested them with the goodnesses and the sins/crimes, maybe/perhaps they return.         WaqattaAAnahum fee al-ardi omaman minhumu alssalihoona waminhum doonathalika wabalawnahum bialhasanati waalssayyi-ati laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

169.  *     After them succeeded an (evil) generation: They inherited the Book, but they chose (for themselves) the vanities of this world, saying (for excuse): "(Everything) will be forgiven us." (Even so), if similar vanities came their way, they would (again) seize them. Was not the covenant of the Book taken from them, that they would not ascribe to God anything but the truth? and they study what is in the Book. But best for the righteous is the home in the Hereafter. Will ye not understand?     Subsequent to them, He substituted new generations who inherited the scripture. But they opted for the worldly life instead, saying, "We will be forgiven." But then they continued to opt for the materials of this world. Did they not make a covenant to uphold the scripture, and not to say about GOD except the truth? Did they not study the scripture? Certainly, the abode of the Hereafter is far better for those who maintain righteousness. Do you not understand? So from after them succeeded/followed successions, they inherited The Book, they take/receive that enjoyable accessories/non-essentials/vanities the nearer, and they say: "(It) will be forgiven for us."108And if enjoyable accessories/non-essentials/vanities similar/equal to it comes to them they take/receive it, was not The Book's promise/covenant being taken on (from) them, that they not say on God except the truth ? And they studied/memorized what is in it, and the home/house (of) the end (other life is) better/best, to those who fear and obey, so do you not reason/understand ?         Fakhalafa min baAAdihim khalfun warithoo alkitaba yakhuthoona AAarada hathaal-adnawayaqooloona sayughfaru lanawa-in yatihim AAaradun mithluhu yakhuthoohu alam yukhathAAalayhim meethaqu alkitabi an layaqooloo AAalaAllahi illaalhaqqa wadarasoo mafeehi waalddaru al-akhiratu khayrun lillatheena yattaqoona afalataAAqiloona

We do testify!" (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "Of this we were never mindful":     Recall that your Lord summoned all the descendants of Adam, and had them bear witness for themselves: "Am I not your Lord?" They all said, "Yes. We bear witness." Thus, you cannot say on the Day of Resurrection, "We were not aware of this."     واذ اخذ ربك من بني ادم من ظهورهم ذريتهم واشهدهم على انفسهم الست بربكم قالوا بلى شهدنا ان تقولوا يوم القيامة انا كنا عن هذا غافلين     And when/if your Lord took/received from Adam's sons and daughters from their backs their descendants, and He made them witness/testify on themselves. Consequently, the devil pursued him, until he became a strayer.     واتل عليهم نبا الذي اتيناه اياتنا فانسلخ منها فاتبعه الشيطان فكان من الغاوين     And read/recite on them whom We gave/brought him Our verses/evidences, so he broke away/separated from it, so the devil followed him, so he was from the misguided.         Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa allatheeataynahuayatinafainsalakha minhafaatbaAAahu alshshaytanu fakana mina alghaweena

176.  *     If it had been Our will, We should have elevated him with Our signs; but he inclined to the earth, and followed his own vain desires. His similitude is that of a dog: if you attack him, he lolls out his tongue, or if you leave him alone, he (st ill) lolls out his tongue. That is the similitude of those who reject Our signs; So relate the story; perchance they may reflect.     Had we willed, we could have elevated him therewith, but he insisted on sticking to the ground, and pursued his own opinions. Thus, he is like the dog; whether you pet him or scold him, he pants. Such is the example of people who reject our proofs. Narrate these narrations, that they may reflect. And if We wanted/willed, We would have risen him with it, and but he (wanted to) perpetuate/immortalize/eternalize the earth/Planet Earth, and he followed his self attraction for desire/love and lust, so his example/proverb (is) like the example (of) the dog, if you burden/load on it, it pants, and if you leave it, it pants, that is (the) example/proverb (of) the nation those who lied/denied/falsified with Our verses/evidences, so narrate/relay the narration/information,maybe/perhaps they think.         Walaw shi\nalarafaAAnahu bihawalakinnahu akhlada ilaal-ardi waittabaAAa hawahu famathaluhu kamathali alkalbi in tahmil AAalayhi yalhath aw tatruk-hu yalhaththalika mathalu alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo bi-ayatinafaoqsusi alqasasa laAAallahum yatafakkaroona

When she grows heavy, they both pray to God their Lord, (saying): "If Thou givest us a goodly child, we vow we shall (ever) be grateful."     He created you from one person (Adam). Subsequently, He gives every man a mate to find tranquility with her. She then carries a light load that she can hardly notice.
